SwimZip Mom Inventor Battles Skin Cancer Sparks Innovative Product

SwimZip UV protection

Cancer is a source of fear for many people. I despise the disease and cannot wait for the day that it’s wiped off the planet. As a mom inventor myself I can tell you that nothing inspires me more than seeing another mom and her creative invention solve a major problem. Skin cancer is a problem but SwimZip is helping pave the way to a solution. Betsy Johnson creator of SwimZip is not only an awesome mom, but a creative inventor. She battled skin cancer and decided to create something positive from the experience here is her story:

WHO WE ARE
Betsy’s Story: Being diagnosed with skin cancer at just 26 years of age changed my life.  It was scary, awful, and traumatic.  (Kleenex made a small fortune wiping away my tears for a few weeks!)  After getting over the self-pity, I realized that I had actually been presented with was an opportunity to do something meaningful with my life.  I enjoyed working in the corporate world, but here was a chance to help others avoid my fate – and maybe even save lives.  With the conviction that comes from knowing without a doubt that you are doing something right, I dove headfirst into the world of UPF sun protective clothing … and thus SwimZip was born
As you can image for moms like me who live in the Las Vegas heat and blazing sun SwimZip is a dream come true. When I take Matilda outside the sun is blazing. I’m always looking for a product that helps me protect my baby from the sun. So when Betsy offered up a SwimZip of course I was happy to try it out. As you can see Matilda loved hers.

  • SwimZip is sun protection that’s gentle on baby’s skin.  No more scary chemicals or extremely expensive natural sun screens – just zip on your SwimZip.
  • SwimZip swimsuits for girls are adorable, the design and attention to detail is wonderful.

One thing I loved about the SwimZip besides the fact that a mom inventor created it and beyond the amazing UPF protection was the zipper. One zip and it came off super easy. For an active baby like mine that was an added bonus!  To see all the super cute styles visit SwimZip  and share with other parents. It’s really one of my favorite mom inventor products! You will love it.

Disclosure: I was given a SwimZip for the purpose of this review but I totally love it and the opinions are of course my own :)
