What are the recent Klout Changes?

More Data, More Often
We have increased the number of social media signals we analyze from less than 100 to more than 400. We have also increased the number of data points we analyze on a daily basis from 1 billion to 12 billion. All of this additional data helps us deliver a more accurate Score for everyone on Klout.

Real-World Influence
I’m called a broadcaster. Hmm I think that’s a cool thing. Klout says “Our long-term goal is to understand and analyze all the world’s influence, both online and offline. Today, we are entering the early stages of incorporating real-world influence into the Klout Score by integrating Wikipedia. We see a Wikipedia entry as a significant indicator of one’s ability to drive action in the real world.”

Moments

Moments is a significant addition to the Klout user experience. This feature displays the content and ideas that have been most influential across all of your networks, all in one place. Moments will also help you see interaction patterns emerge that can help you shape your influence and improve the quality of your ideas. We’ll make moments available to everyone over the next few weeks.

So in a nutshell there you go. Don’t let scores make you crazy though it’s just a number. As you can tell it will probably change again. Just create an environment where you help people and the rest will follow.

  1. i like the changes…but i still find it odd that someone who doesn’t really understand the concept of a #hashtag and never seems to actually interact with others can have a 78.

  2. Thanks for this breakdown, Lisa…. very helpful. I love Klout and am thankful it was good for me too as far as my score increasing. Must have been incredibly frustrating for people whose score went down though! We are all sensitive to these numbers even if it is just a score! :)

Like you said, though… if we focus on helping people and providing useful info it shouldn’t be long for the score to come back up I’m thinking…
