Today was another busy day of blogging, emails, editing my eBook and writing another “How To Blog” Book. I woke up this morning on fire because I received a letter from the IRS. I had some back taxes a few years back but they were paid in full this past tax season and this letter said they wanted to check on my charitable contributions. I was on fire. Thankfully they said it was a mistake.
So back to blogging I went. I added another book it should be up soon ” How To Start A Blog Free In Under 5 Minutes”. Obviously it’s for first time bloggers.
Sometimes in the midst of blogging and busting my hump while doing it, I think of my daughter. I’m hump busting while she is napping in case you are wondering. When she wakes up occasionally I put her in her high chair with her snacks play her favorite music and finish checking emails or whatever. I normally just to that about 15 minutes then she comes out and we play.
But today was one of those days when I looked at her and thought ” What am I doing?” I really need a break. So I packed her up and we went to the library. We read, she tried to rip up all the books, I showed her the puzzles, she pulled every book of the shelf, I tried to get her to walk to me, she crawled at lightening speed in the opposite direction, it was a great time. Right now she is an only child so I try to get her out so she can visit with other kids. I have a birthday in a 4 days. I’ll be ….well older. As you get older you start thinking more.
Today I realized that if I want to continue to grow as a blogger and be of any use to you that I have to remember to breathe. Sometimes I’m pushing so hard towards deadlines, projects, emails or otherwise, and I don’t take any time for myself. I have also fallen into a small rut and Matilda and I don’t leave the house that often except for church or grocery store runs. That’s really got to stop. But any first time mom knows sometimes you just don’t have it all figured out. A routine that is.
I put those pictures of my baby up because she is the reason I do it all. True I love when you tell me I’ve helped you in some way. That makes my day as well. But when my eBook Get Famous comes out, it was written with her in mind. Every minute I work, and with every project I do, her future is my focus now. And in the midst of that I have to remind myself that the most important part of her future is me, and the time I spend with her. So today I decided to breathe. And I may do even more of that tomorrow. Because even thought I love what I do and sharing tips with you is amazing, in the end no one says they wish they had written another post. They may however wish they would have taken an extra trip to the library to watch their baby play.
Whatever you do today I hope it’s amazing. That your weekend is filled with fun, and your business is totally and radically blessed. I appreciate you and as always thank you for reading. Now Go Breathe!

So true! I found myself doing that, too. Pretty much ignoring all my pertinent responsibilities to get my blog out there. So many things were getting neglected, including myself! I found myself literally in my pjs for days (granted I took a shower, but mostly just to get into clean pjs!). I’ve been listening closely to your fabulous advice!
And what better way to relax than at the library!? One my favorite places in the world!
Breathe…*sigh/exhale*
Thanks Tristine
Many days I’m in my pajamas too LOL.
Lisa, I needed this. Sometimes I’m up until the wee hours trying to get something with content out… The next day I’m whooped and it starts all over again. I need to breathe. Thank you. Not Your Ordinary Recipes

So true! I often have to remind myself to just stop and give my full attention to my kids. The library is a great way to do that! So is just turning off the computer, setting the phone aside and being with your kids. Playing, teaching, learning together. These things matter. We all need to find a balance and it can be so challenging when you work from home. The kids don’t care about our blogs, our professional writing or our social networking! They care about our attention.
Breathe often.
Maltilda is adorable, btw!!
Found you through the new linky followers blog hop. I’m so happy to be your newest follower, it would be great if you follow me back.

I just stumbled across your blog tonight and am so excited! I can relate to this post because I too am a mom entrepreneur (clothing line for breastfeeding mothers), and live in a sleep-deprived daze because of the go-go-go existence I am in. However, I am slowly slipping in time to breathe (and shower!) again, and put myself to bed earlier, and it makes all the difference in energy level and general well being. So like you say, spending an afternoon chasing Matilda around the library is so important. Next thing you’ll know, she’ll be 5 like my daughter Hadley, and you’ll have all those precious moments to reflect and build on PLUS your own fabulous project for yourself (this amazing blog).
Cheers to balance and well being for mothers,
Holli
Holli so excited for you !
I saw the clothes- they are wonderful. As a breastfeeding mom I can really appreciate the style. You’ll have to tell me more about it. I have a baby product ( not for breastfeeding LOL) and I’m in the process of launching that as well. So much to do. Welcome to my blog so glad you found it.

Mothers work so hard. No one really knows what we do to be able to stay home with our children. I think it is wonderful that you were able to take a breather and go out with Matilda. I agree so much with Holli. My boys are all grown and in college/military and it flew by. Sometimes it feels like just yesterday when I was holding them in my arms and now they are taller than me! Enjoy every second, every moment, you will be so happy you did. Love and hugs! LisaL.
